Nope! That was a good enough excuse for me to keep on drinking. ;) I chose
to drink and that was that. NO one or NOTHING made me drink.

If all that gets discussed is drunkalogues, then I'd suggest you
explore meetings elsewhere. I think the only times I began to feel
comfortable in meetings was when the discussion went beyond what could
be heard in any bar.

An interesting topic, Mr. Moon. Sometimes all the newcomer has is the
drunka log. And I use mine in hopes that folks will recognize themselves in
my rather run-of-the-mill storry. But, even with a few years of recovery, I
confess that I get uncomfortable when someone romances a drink in a meeting.
I suppose that stuff (lurid descriptions of the frost on a beer mug) is
pretty honest, but it isn't about a solutions.
I need solutions. I've done more drinking than my body could tolerate.
Today, I don't want to go back to that place. Frosty beer mug, or not, my
life was a mess.
Cheers,
Mouse

Have I seen that sig before on another trolling post?
If not then maybe you should't go to meetings anymore.

If I don't hear about "what happened" or "what it's like now" then it's
likely nothing has happened so why would it be any different.

I shouldn't try to be witty -- I tend to leave stuff out. We need to know
what it was like. We need to talk about what it was like. How's anyone
going to know they're in the right place if we don't... by the same
token...we need to offer recovery too. Otherwise it's just a bunch of
drunks at a bar swapping war stories - and every day is just like the first
day.

If you only hear about "what happened" and little or nothing about
"what it's like now" (even if "now" is any different - not everyone
who speaks in an AA meeting is sober!) what incentive is there to
recover?
