Hi guys,
boy I blew it this time!
I woke up with a WICKED hangover this morning, totally shaky and sweating, and
now feel like total hell.
I really need to stop doing this to myself.
and everytime it happens, I just get so dissapointed in myself.
going to try and eat something (and keep it down)
cheer me up guys!

Or, more truthfully, continue to "blow it"?

What's new?

Perhaps you can't?

I can sure remember that feeling.

Why? Merely to get you ready sooner for the next session?
Can you describe the difference between hope, and hopelessness? I suspect
that if you experience that difference, you too can then leave those
hangovers behind in your history, and out of your prognosis!

i remember toward the end of my drinking "career" waking and feeling so disappointed in myself.
in the big book (pg.30 ) it talks about feelings of "pitiful and incomprehensible
demoralization"........................
i remember the very first time i heard that expression, it "fit me like a glove" and i knew for sure, that there were
many who felt as i did.
i remember feeling as you do, and the only thing that worked for me, was a firm resolve to get as much help as needed,
and go to AA meetings.
ONE DAY AT A TIME, i don't drink anymore and ONE DAY AT A TIME, i work on changing the things that made me feel like i
NEEDED to drink.

At the end of my drinking I don't think anyone else could have done
this. If they could, it would only ever have been transitory. I am
convinced that it could not have relieved my alcoholism. So rather
than try to cheer you up, I'll offer a direction for you to follow:
Read the "doctor's opinion" and chapters 2 and 3 of the book
"Alcoholics Anonymous". AA meetings probably won't cheer you up
either, but they're a good place for you to be right now. Do what is
done by everyone else who recovered. You can eventually cheer
yourself up and can even eventually start to do some of the things you
always promised yourself that you'd do but never got round to.

Just today I was thinking about my hangovers I use to have. Actually every
Saturday morning for the past five years I think about the hangovers I use
to have, and I thank God I don't experience those anymore.
They use to be so bad that I literally could not come out of a dark room!!!!
How horrible and how thankful I am those days are history. Try hard to
remember the actually feeling of your hangover next time you are feeling
great on a Friday night and ready to party.

LOL!
being "sick and tired of being sick and tired" is what got me to meetings in the first place.
