By speaking for, and registering, *us* as an AA group. Wouldn't that be a
hoot!
Bob;-)
------------------------------------
Hello, and welcome to the registration process for the Online Service
Conference. Other mailings (more than you probably want to read) will
provide you with extensive background information on the Conference when
your address moves to that list. We are really glad to welcome your group to
the online general service structure.
For now, we need some information to get your group registered for the
conference. Please fill in the items below as completely as possible, where
indicated after the marks /// (use the next line if needed)
When complete, send to the addresses indicated below. You will know your
group is properly registered for the conference in a few days when you
receive an automated yahoogroups notice that you have been added to the new
site, plus several informational mailings from the conference files, sent
from the conference website. If you have any registration questions, please
contact
http://www.aa-intergroup.org/
1. Name of group ///
2. Does the group wish to be registered as "an online AA group" with the
OSC? (yes,no?)///
3. Does the group wish to participate in the next conference?(yes/no)///
4.. Group email address (preferably more or less permanent, if available)///
5. Name and email address of OGR/GSR who will represent the group///
6. Name and email address of Alternate OGR/GSR (if any)///
7. One other contact name and addy in the group (backup)///
8. Would you like to see group descriptive details published on the future
OSC site?(yes,no) ///
---------------
Please be aware that the Steering committee has not yet finalised the agenda
for OSC-3 ... so there will be some delay before your information is added
to the listing.
Your application will, nevertheless, be processed and you will receive the
initial "package" of pre-conference documentation ASAP.
Yours in Service

No, actually that would probably piss a fair amount of people off. AA
isn't for everyone. Don't get me wrong. I'm all for whatever helps us
drunks. For some people, AA is a God send, for some it's hell. We all
may have the same affliction, but we all vary in our needs for salvation.
Rosie is hell bent on AA, others are just as hellbent against it.
Personally I'm somewhere in the middle. *I* need to keep myself dry and
workout *my* issues. Giving up *myself* and trusting some phantom "Higher
Power" to do it/help with it, is just not my idea of help. It's works
from some, some detest it, again, I'm somewhere in between.
*I* need to do this, but I also can admit that I do need help.
"Conjuring" some apparition that is is supposed to help just doesn't give
much confidence to me...
(Again, I'm *NOT* downing AA, nor am I downing the people against it, I'm
just giving my 2 cents)

So, just "who" are those that AA is "not" for?
I defy you to show me one person that is worse off for having honestly done

Would'nt it be a great world if everyone who claims to be "in" AA really
worked the twelve steps like they say they are?

Ah, those imagined resentments that we think others hold against us.
Sweetie, you've never done anything to offend me in the slightest, so,
while you feel the need to apologize (and, it's accepted in the spirit
offered), it's not necessary. I'm just glad to see you back.

PLEASE do not judge the effectiveness of the AA program and the 12

I always thought that the AA program was the Twelve Steps. If that is

What is it that YOU display, Rosemary?
Is lying, misrepresentation of one's "credentials" , snipping posts to twist
meanings to suit your purposes, calling people malcontents, popping pills,
lying, being consescending and arrogant, did I mention lying, and being a
major pain in the ass part of YOUR program? Did I mention lying?

My view may differ from other people's. FWIW, I see changes in me
that I know are changes for the better. However today I am troubled
and on edge. When like this in the past I could have thought about
my troubles for hours, worked myself up into a worse state because of
doing so and eventually, may have drunk to drown my feelings of
sorrow, anger and frustration. Today, I plan to put some effort into
doing things that will quickly restore quiet to my mind. This will
happen because I want it badly enough to make it happen. I see my
change of attitude and behaviour in these circumstances evidence of me
having changed for the better.
FWIW, I've found writing this helpful. Thank you.
Yours in friendship
JB

Nervous energy can be very destructive - if you can channel it
creatively, you're on a winner. I'm glad you're seeing changes for the
better - long may they continue!

PS: What follows if further to my asking what recovery means to you.
FWIW, I have no reason to believe that you do not have a ceritficate
from theWisconsin Certification Board saying that you have passed one
of their courses in drug/alcohol counselling. I therefore think that
you will have be trained to understand what recovery is about.
Furthermore, I know that within the last year you have claimed to be
practicing as a drugs/alcohol counsellor. I am therefore wondering
how you measure your clients' progress.
In the circusmtances, I hope you will chose to say what you mean by
recovery.
Yours
JB

I probably had one, too. I just have a hard time remembering whether I did
or not. I could have sworn Robert and Blue were there, too. Along with
Tispe, and there was a counselor there by the name of Rose Shaw and I wanted
to meet her and she was off. Catchy name? No, I ain't paranoid now..LOL
Take care,
Gail
