If my sobriety was contingent upon cutting my hair, I'd be asking for
the scissors. Are your hair, rock'n'roll and van more important than
sobriety?
As for personality, what is it that got you drunk?
You turn over as much control as you're willing to turn over. No
sponsor can *make* you do anything. A good sponsor should be a guide
for working the program, and doing AA service.
A sponsor is also not cast in stone. If you struggle with one, get
another. Just be confident of your own motives in doing so.
