If someone has been drinking 50 or so units of alcohol pw for 20 years
is it true that even if a sudden stop is brought to the habit that it
could take months for mind and body to return to normal functions? He
has no specific symptoms, just lassitude, low energy, underperforming
generally, weak bladder of course. From others' experiences how long
could a long term detox take please?

The physical elimination from a persons body varies from a few days to a
week+.

A persons metabolic rate affects the time frame as well as body fat and
other factors.

Of course repairing damage to the body takes much longer and the
psychological damage might never be repaired.
