my sense of humor is indeed warped, but i have to laugh at this one. my
typing is odd but i'll explain it. i was at a labor day party yesterday
and a bunch of us were just fucking around. and yes, i stayed sober if
any of you are wondering. we were trying to toss someone into the
swimming pool and i guess we slipped on the concrete and went down.
everyone else was fine but i ended up in the ER with a broken wrist.
this explains my odd typing since i can only type with my left fingers
now. what are you going to do other than laugh about it?. what's
important to me is the fact that i enjoyed myself without even one
drink. i was even able to leave ER in enough time to rejoin the party
and stay sober and have a great time. i'm not amused with having my arm
in a cast but it was nothing more than an accident. don't know if you
guys will find this amusing but thought i'd try and give you a good
laugh.

Congrats on your successful Sobriety in the face of the infamous
"party' threat ! Just brings to light that there may be addict s and
alcoholics out there that were not so successful over the holiday.
But, as the saying goes, Using is just a sympton of this disease; we
have a malady of the Spirit. A member of my family who is 21 yrs old
had a hissy fit at work and punched a wall=he broke his hand and lost
his job. Although it is not my inventory to diagnose his issues, i can
see that unappropiate anger can also be a stumbeling block in our life.
I am thankful today that the 12 steps gives me not only the courage to
honestly admitt my issues, but a path in which to work on them! Some of
these non-addictive people are not so lucky.

Congrats! Hope you heal fast. A friend of mine broke his writes trying to
teach his five-year old how to roller skate.

My labor day involved nearly electrocuting myself working on a light
fixture while standing on a wet porch! I thought the power was off. I was
trained as an electrician, so I know better. Eighteen years of sobriety
soen't protect me from stupidity.

thanks for the compliment. i think 5 years ago i probably wouldn't have
believed it myself. other than typing with one hand it's not a big
deal. one added bonus of being sober at parties is watching people who
are so wasted making total jackasses of themselves.
