I went to visit one of my best friends/drinking buddies. He offered me a
beer several times. I declined each time. I am pretty proud about that.
What I am maybe not so proud of is that I didn't tell him I was in the
program.

Can I make a suggestion there bud? No I won't. I'll tell ya what worked for
me. Early in sobriety I stayed right away from bars and drinkin' buddies.
Hung out at the coffee shops with AA buds. I jumped into sobriety both feet.
Tell you what, once I stayed sober, the old boys lost their appeal as I grew
in the program, sure enough..
