Happy birthday Rosie!

21...isn't that the legal drinking age in most states...
http://www2.potsdam.edu/alcohol-info/LegalDrinkingAge.html
So imagine, if you had never taken a drink from the day you were born you
would have waited this long to have a drink legally. I wonder if that really
happens....people wait till their "legal"? Maybe somewhere but sure not in
my house! :)

that's cool rosie. but you've never done a drunkalogue here so I
don't think many know much about you. odd in a way. you've been here
a long time. are you a *real* private person or do you reveal once in
a while? what kind of things do you like to do? how old were you
when you sobered up? did you have a difficult time of it? who do you
admire in life? what turns you away? do you have kids? a mate?
what do you do in your spare time?

best,

i share when folks ask me questions.
nothing to hide, but find myself quite boring!

so let me answer your questions:

>> what kind of things do you like to do?

i like to play the piano
sing
water-ski
dance
read
talk
watch television, watch movies.
LOVE talk shows.
regular old boring stuff!

> how old were you
> when you sobered up?

i was 34yrs old.

>did you have a difficult time of it?

no, not compared to the stories i hear around the table, and compared to some of my clients.
i sobered up at home, and did 90 aa meetings in 60 days.
i was malnourished, skinny," irritable and discontent" but was able to follow direction, and i did!
i was blessed with great friends and good examples.
my brother sobered up 10 yrs before me, so he and his home group were just waiting for me!

> who do you
> admire in life?

generally, liberal activists!
(Martin Luther King, Jesus, Ghandi, etc)
<duck>

>what turns you away?

conservative republicans!
:^)

do you have kids?

i have four of them and my baby is a senior in college

>a mate?

my second husband, and my soulmate, tom......................
i have no doubt that he was sent to me by my HP, to help lead me to sobriety, though he is a normie!
we have been married for almost 25yrs.

> what do you do in your spare time?

i do EVERYTHING in my life part time, so i never run out of things to do.
boredom is a dangerous thing for me.

i LOVE aa meetings, and attend FACE TO FACE and ONLINE meetings pretty regularly.
i am an ADDICTIONS COUNSELOR in private practice. (retired ER/ICCU nurse)
i am still searching for a hobby, so i try everything once!

i look like this:
http://www.quitbuddies.org/
(look for picture on page five, top line)
i am 5'10" tall, and NOT skinny, anymore!

does that quench your thirst?
if not, just ask me more........................

hahahahaha....well, I don't see much boring there.....

>i have four of them and my baby is a senior in college

all right. I have four too. But my youngest is out of college for
about six years now. She's an RN...operating room, plastics....

Joan and I have 19 years on August 31, which is also my birthday, and
the next day is my sobriety day....see the sequence here....(:>

>i do EVERYTHING in my life part time, so i never run out of things to do.

Yeah boredom. The bane of drunks. Create a little drama is the
answer to boredom. I think that is fairly common among
drunks....creating drama from boredom.

Do something that you think you might like but have never tried. That
should open the field up.

But very pretty.......you *look*, well, thin.....but it's just a face
shot...cool smile....

You did good. Thanks for answering....I like to know about people...I
l loved drunkalogues when I went to AA. People are interesting to
me....I'd like to know more about some of the others here...but I
don't know if I asked they would respond like you.

Thanks,

Well schucks that makes you almost human, I had you down as a cranky oul
batchelor, how does that poor sainted lady endure you at all Tom. Kindly
extend my errh ahh congratulations and very best wishes to her, in exchange
for her recipe for endurance.

I remember this from some time ago, someone here is a few years longer than
meself married, not my wife cos we're both married the same length of time,
well we would be wouldn't we :-)
I'm 38 years married last June, have had 8 children, an endless supply of
g/children, and am nearly eligible for the next generation. My oldest
granson is near 20. I was getting ready to be married at that age - I'm
glad I did all the things I did when I was young. It means I'm young enough
yet, to be able to enjoy playing ball, going to matches, and still cohesive
enough to parlay with my grandchildren. Not that I understand one word of
what they communicate with though :-))
(The Duchess says we have 14 G/kids and none on the way)
Cheers

Thanks rosie!! One of the things about AA that helped me in the first days

Not so much for me... I'm basically conservative, but a social conservative
which may not be the same as conservative republican. We don't have
republicans up here in Canada, but I figure that "the Alliance party" might
be a close fit, so maybe I could say me too for this too
