Detox is generally a 3 to 5 day stay. I would think
that is a medicare item.
A in patient rehab care program is 5 to 6 weeks
and is generally covered by a health plan
under chemical dependency program.
Is a 2 hour drive that difficult for a medical problem ?

I would take him if I could drive.his two oldest kids have abandon him.they
are tired of it I guess.he's 67 years old and been in detox I am guessing
four or five times.one in cumberland heights when he was covered under
Tenncare.the state cut back on Tenncare this year and he lost his
coverage.his brother and uncle died this year and it has hit him hard.his
uncle was the same age as him.

I'm extremely sorry to hear that.
Thanks to Reagan and Bush families
for the fatal decline in health care.
The sad truth unless he wants to really
start to get well, there is little you can do.
Hopefully you can find a place and a means
to get him there Contact other care centers
and see what they offer, and payment options,
and perhaps you can make a last ditch efford with other family or
friends
to get him there.

There is a treatment center that you might try. The Samaritan Center
is a combination treatment center and half-way house. It is located
down town I believe. Don't know much about it as recent history goes,
but knew a couple of people that went years ago. Don't have any
contact info, but assume you could look it up in the phone book. Good
luck.

On their website it says they will not turn down anyone even if they can't
pay.when you call them they want $7,000 and that is just half.this does not
sound right to me for a place being paid for by the state and the united
way?

Fucking health care system...
They will treat a dying lung cancer patient who smoked
all their lifes, but deny quit smoking patch treatment,
or pay a doctors visit for the flu and deny a anti - flu shot.
Register him under an alias and tell them he is homeless
illegal alien from Mexico. He'll get 1st class treatment.

After detox, Manor House will fly your cousin in for a 28 day program
based on 12 step Hazeldon. See the web site at
http://www.manorhouserehab.com Has 800 phone number.
$1000 up front, Balance of about $9000 before entry, Manor House may
carry a note for $6000 with a cosigner.
Private, semi private rooms, restaurant, support, located in Oklahoma.
Get your cousin out of familiar surroundings and out of reach of his
cronies.

I hope you're doing OK now. Manor House doesn't employ doctors or
shrinks because that kind of "help" can hinder recovery.
