Pedro was driving down the street in a sweat because he had an
important meeting and couldn't find a parking place. Looking up toward
heaven, he said
"Lord, take pity on me. If you find me a parking place I will go to
Mass every Sunday for the rest of my life and give up tequila."
Miraculously, a parking place appeared. Pedro looked
up again, and said, "Never mind. I found one."

put your boots on, go change somebody's oil
If you are implying that I make promises like that you are wrong. If
not, sorry. As for parking places, I love it when one is open just
where I want to park. All I know is that if my God wants to let me
know he is around, He just might find me a parking spot or just might
change the light for me. I know that He can.
Best,
Gail

backup lights came on and Pedro sat and waited for the car to pull out
and then said, "Thank you, God".

He did? i thought he would have thanked the other driver.

Nah, the other driver took off before Pedro could thank him/her. The
other driver could probably have cared less that there was someone in
need of a space and would probably have shot Pedro a bird if he had
tried to thank him/her. ;)

Well credit where it's due. it only takes a wave, a nod or a smile.

Well, Pedro will be ok whether he waved, nodded, smiled or what. Pedro
realized he needed to leave earlier and allow himself more time to
search for a parking space and walk a little ways whenever he has to
make an important meeting again. Thank God he did. Some people don't
learn that fast.

Hi Gail, didn't mean anything by it, just crossed my desk and thought
to add it to the concept of the coincidental Apparition of parking
spots you once mused with, hereabouts, questioning.
I interpret the subject to refer to those moments where the answer we
sought suddenly appears, or the path becomes clear, etc. through none
of our doing, etc.
My own personal parking meditation for the moment, is, spots come open
for the just and the unjust. I will try to meet either with a degree
of equanimity. (transl.: Some you win, some you lose.) Pedro must be
calm, and not ram buddy's taillights to try to make them move faster,
accepting responsibility for his late-ness, not kicking himself too
hard for sleeping in AGAIN. But if buddy is buddy-ette, putting on
lipstick, and hair-combing in the rear-view, while talking animatedly
on the cell, Pedro may blast her with his horn, and give a dirty look,
to assist her in collecting herself, and press her on. If she reacts
badly, he may bump the taillights lightly, just short of scratching
paint. I think that's rational and balanced, and mutually beneficial.
Prays be to Allah, who makes whole cities to disappear.
