I just heard from someone at a meeting the other night that they go to some
kind of therapy where they meditate in a room that is over 100 degrees. New
Mexico has it and I found out some of the treatment centers here do this.
Has anyone ever heard of this? I had never heard of it. I think it might be
Native American therapy or something? Some at the people in the meeting are
wearing a medicine bag around their neck, too.
I am serious!

Totally agree. I never said it wasn't a good thing, only that I had never
heard of it before. I used other things, too. ;)

Probably a referance to a "sweat lodge", a spiritual preparation for
"vision quest". I have a Tuscarora friend who is an elder of his
tribe. We have discussed these things at length. Many native americans
are beginning to exclude non-natives from these ceremonies due to lack
of proper preparation and learning to respect the traditions. Many
non-natives attend these things and disrespect the elders who are
there to guide them. They are also disrespecting the facilities which
are usually are on tribal lands by trashing the place.
"When the earth is ravaged and the animals are dying, a new tribe of
people shall come unto the earth from many colors, classes, creeds,
and who by their actions and deeds shall make the earth green again.
They will be known as the warriors of the Rainbow."
Old Native American Prophecy
Navajo Blessed Beauty Way Prayer
Great Spirit, may we walk in Beauty.
May Beauty be above us so that we dream of Beauty.
May Beauty be in front of us so that we are led by Beauty.
May Beauty be to the left of us so that we may receive Beauty.
May Beauty be to the right of us so that we may give out Beauty.
May Beauty be behind us so that those who come after us may see
Beauty.
May Beauty be inside us so that we may become Beauty.
Great Spirit, may we walk in Beauty.

Peace.
