I have posted several messages today and not long ago every one of them
plus a couple replies have been deleted. Since these posts were
generally critical of AA I have to assume that someone in the AA camp
has decided to limited free discussion. They apparently see free
thought as threatening to them.

Here is a summary of the usenet functionality that these lowlifes have
used:

"Usenet news has a cancel command, which can delete messages already
sent out. Only the author of the cancelled message and the local
newsserver administrator is allowed to cancel a message. Since,
however, it is very easy to fake your identity, this command poses an
obvious security risk, and the command is known to have been used to
cancel messages for political reasons."

Since you perpetrators choose to behave in this manner, I will respond
in kind at the time of my choosing. Bawaaaaaaaaaaaaah!

Paul, I have seen a lot of things in this group, including posts from a lot
of people that I thought were a waste of 0's and 1's, but I have never seen
anyone's messages deleted for political reasons, or any reason for that
matter. Are you sure that yours have been? Personally, I found your
approach to be a bit hostile, but I didn't see anything that others haven't
successfully posted.

A few moments ago I could not download some of your posts. As I have
previously encountered this difficulty, I know it wise for me to assume
that the problem is a temporary one. Usually, later, I try again to
download the messages I could not and find myself able to. I have now
been able to read all your posts that earlier today I could not.

Let me try to be Honest, Appropriate, Respecful and Direct.

What a Jackass!

Oh well, I tried - 3 out of 4 ain't bad. Guess I'll have to work on the
respectful thing. Sounds like paranoia to me. So what do you have to offer
besides all this bitching, moaning and whining?

I saw the same thing. It was really strange. After I saw the messages reappear
I felt bad I had been so quick to draw conclusions. While the messages were
mysteriously absent, I did some research on usenet.org and learned that there
is a cancel capability that can allow really anyone to delete any message.
There are a couple pseudo-newsroups that do log cancel actions and I didn't see
any record of cancels of my posts, so it was a total mystery. I will, however,
be more slow to draw conclusions in the future. My face is red.

One thing that AA teaches us is to not always assume the very worst first.

AA also encourages its members who have done wrong to make amends.
Despite not being an AA member, Paul has done in his post something that
some AAs cannot do. FWIW, I have respect for folk who, when in the
wrong, have the humilty to admit to being so. Thank you Paul

Best regards
