Welcome Mike. This is a discussion group about recovery, addiction and
alcoholism. If you are wanting to discuss those things, great. If you are
looking for an AA group, you might want to try on-line groups. Yahoo and MSN
have them. We do discuss AA and other recovery, we're just not an AA group.
:)
Best,

I think many here are not AA, some are. Seems to me, the AA types here
respect those who don't go, and those who don't go seem to respect those
that do.
We haven't seen the arfer's here yet.

You know that some people are different.
Now ain't that a crying shame.
Wouldn't it be a real drag, if we were all the same.

Actually, of those who are sober here, it seems that predominantly the
(relevant) subject matter comes from those who found sobriety with AA.
There's a world of difference between that and the question of whether
this NG is AA ... it is not.

Happily? Did you ever actually try AA, or is this more of the
"contempt prior to investigation"?

Yes, I did. I went to several meetings, and have used on-line groups. I
have further more recommended AA - both FTF and on-line to other
posters to this group and said it clearly works for many. I am not sure
how this equates to 'contempt'.
I said 'happily' since it mean that both AA And other things can be
discussed rather than it being restricted to one method or organisation.

i interpreted this quite differently than you BM.
happily, this newsgroup is NOT a predominant AA area, because there are a few in here, who truly aren't "the best page
of the BB, i have ever read"..................
ATTRACTION, NOT PROMOTION, remember?

Ah ok. With that, I would agree. If AA meetings were my sole source
of information, my head would be more screwed up than it already is ;)

From the follow-up, seems like your interpretation was a little
off-beam also :)
