We frequently post in here when we are under stress or when things look
bleak, so I thought I'd post one just because the weekend was pleasant.
I wasn't great or exciting or thrilling or any of the over the top
feelings that are just the manic part of the depressive cycle. It was just
pleasant. I spent a lot of time with my son and we did nice things -- once
again, not amazing things, just nice things.
For our non-US folk, this is was a 3 day weekend because Labor Day is
always the first Monday in September. Today we just threw some steaks in a
basket into which we also put pita bread, hummus, macaroni salad, potato
salad, stuffed grape leaves, and a peach pie. We took the camp grill and
went to a park by a lake. We took the baseball bag (which is what I have
instead of a golf bag) so we could play catch. It was a quiet good time.
One of the things that was good about it was just that we were doing
something. I have finally accepted that I spend too bloody much time
thinking about things and that I won't get to the next stage of mentally
healthy until I spend more time just doing things. It may well be that
Candide was right after all.
I hope that y'all have a pleasant week of doing things.
