rosie is right,
the stop smoking group is really cool. they actually directed me into this
group, because like a moron I was trying to quit smoking and drinking at the
same time.

I asked them what the deal was "quit smoking and drinking at the same time?"
and they told me that the booze would kill me far more quickly. (there are a
lot of recovering drinkers over there). That I should worry about the booze
first. that was (and is) my problem is that with ANY kind of alcohol, the
first reaction is to light a smoke.

If you made it for a couple of weeks, maybe you might be happy just "second
hand smoking" with friends? I have a ton of quitters who just stand there, for
the comeradery and the smoke I guess. It would personally drive me crazy! but
it seems enough of a fix for them. and they don't smoke (anymore). I don't
think the second hand smoke is a good idea, but it's sure the hell better than
FIRST hand smoke.
But , if you quit, you're a better person than me! I go through hell when I
try to stop (i'm sure you did too?)

my instincts always brought me to have a smoke first thing in the morning, when
I couldn't sleep, ..... Somehow the booze never took that level of addiction
on me. I pounded down some beers, don't get me wrong, but the effect of that
(for the most part) went away pretty quickly. (still tempted, but hanging in
there) but with smokes, you can do it while you're driving, .......

hang in there. Without the smokes and booze, you probably added many HEALTHY
years to your life!

I'm proud of you my friend!
hope to be in your shoes soon!
hang in there, you'll literally kill yourself if you don't!
