. . . as Harry'd dad on "Night Court": "I had a psychotic episode this
morning, but I'm feeling *much* better now!"
<major grin>
I picked a home meeting tonight and I found a sponsor and I have people
to call if (read "when") I get close to the edge again. I feel fortified.
Life is good.
It has been a running gallows humor joke with my secretary for about a
year now that when she asked me how I was feeling, that if I was feeling
comparatively good I would answer: "I'm nearly 51% in favor of being
alive." Since May 24, the percentage has gone way up even on compartively
bad days.
Now, I would have to say that I'm pretty much on the side of being
alive.
I have to explore the thought further, but sometimes I suspect that for
me drinking was a slow, "morally acceptable" way of committing suicide.
Hey, life is apparently a good idea. Who knew?

He's not drinking. He stopped with sheer willpower, didn't need no crutch
like us weaklings. What I'm curious of is why on earth would he need to stop
in the first place, what with addictions being just AA's inventions,
drinkers not drinking b/c of some silly disease, but b/c they are pathetic,
disgusting jerks. Like Virt in a post once, I too can't help but wonder why
these people, who apparently drink for the sole reason of them being
pathetic, disgusting jerks, feel the need to stop drinking in the first
place. Why don't they just utilize their immense willpower and stop behaving
like pathetic, disgusting jerks proceeding onto happy, moderate drinking?
Not that I have anything against their abstinence, quite the contrary.
