Hi
Some know my situation, my anxiety levels will surely dissapear if i quit
drinking in the evenings, i take venlafaxine, busparone & valium for my
probs, but i drink at night, resulting in me waking in a sweat ridden bed,
feeling full of fear & nervousness, panic, terror & anxiousness.
I know the alcohol is affecting my situation, but i don't seem to have will
power to stop. Is there a med that my doc can prescribe that will take away
my craving or make me ill when i drink..
It seems all or nothing for me with drink. My body seems to crave it .
Thanks
Gary

gray,
i would suggest that you have an honest talk with your prescribing
physician about your drinking and start a supervised detox and
treatment.
(just my 2cents)

There are several, Gary. Now that you've reached this point of
acceptance and level of motivation, you can begin to heal the damage.
You have my best wishes, for health and happiness.

I feel for you in your daily hell. Antabuse can be prescribed by your doc
and it will make you very sick if you drink on it. It won't remove the
craving and the reaction to alcohol can be life threatening. I do know
people were helped by it (the fear factor) until they could get enough
willingness to work the AA and graduate from the Antabuse.
God's speed Gary

Thanks all
I am a fit person that runs & eats well, it just seems that
i enjoy the drinking & i don't see it as too much of a problem, as i always
eat after & it is a pleasureable time of the day, especially whilst bbq'ing
in summer time.
I know i would be better if i stopped altogether, i just feel there is
nothing to fill that gap/ Even filling the gap with sport, i would still
feel like a drink after. I'd never get to the stage that i would drink
"instead' of!
Thanks
Gary

You felt much worse just last week and the times before that. No one can
know how you'll feel in even three weeks time, not even you. Enjoy your
upcoming holiday, Gary. Stay well.
