View Full Version : FYI: Academics agree AA is a religious movement
A group of people studing and teaching things like
sociology and religion placed AA into their long list
of religious Movements.

Atheism is of course there too. The important difference is
that while AA is a classic example of the _organized_
religion, atheism is not.

Where does the site make that distinction? Or is it your own? I'll
answer that for you: it's your own. You are as dishonestly presenting
a report on atheism as you are a report on AA.
"Different atheists follow their beliefs in different ways. Some form
or join organizations for atheists..." clearly indicates that the
practice exists whereby atheists band together with their own
organisation. If atheism is classified as "religion", and grouping
together is classified as "organised", then any such group can only be
classified as "organised religion".
You may be surprised to learn that there do exist atheist and agnostic
AA groups. Being agnostically inclined myself I would be very
interested in attending one of their meetings, should the opportunity
arise.
Regarding the site you refer to, it's unclear what endorsements it
has. Seems to be the work of one individual. Anyone can put up a web
site claiming anything. So where do you conclude it's a "group" of
people? What group?

Any idiot should see that what follows the link is my
words. Ya know, there are no quotes. Oh yea, quotes
are these funny things: ". So much for your accusations.

If you quote something, you must put an attribution. None of
the above is on the cite in that link. You are as lame
as lamers come - again. Frankly, I think what you cite is
total demagoguery if not pure rubbish.

If you were able to go to the root of that site and read about
it, you'd find all that. But that's way too much to ask
from you. And again and again - very, very lame.
No, it is not a work of one individual.

You think others are incapable of making up their own minds without
having to endure your opinions and assumptions?
Nah, you're just pissed off because someone is highlighting your real
agenda, which is to troll.

LOL you made reference to atheists being listed on the site, yet you
complain when someone else quotes from the page on that site that
discusses atheism!
So to apply your own logic, where on the page you quoted does it
mention atheism at all? If it doesn't (and it doesn't), why do you
refer to atheism? And why do you then complain when someone else
refers to the subject material you're referring to?

I did, and there doesn't appear to be any there.
>No, it is not a work of one individual.
So why can't you answer the question about what group endorses it?
