First, we on the east coast have to help Ron paint the house for his
Ronettes, then if Gail can arrange all the parking, we'll swing over
with her group to see Rosie's new lake house and have a camp out, skinny
dipping, and maybe some baptisms for the southerners - from there we'll
meet up with the rest of you in the Grand Canyon. How's that, Fred?

But who's going to explain to my wife why the house isn't getting
painted? Not me, that's for sure.
Got any extra room? Cuz if I go to California, I don't think I can come

Hell Freddy, you woke up a bit too late on this one!! I'm taking the big
purple bus across country to the Grand Canyon after our stopover at
Rosie's, and I just painted the bus with the ARAA logo I created!
We'll be picking up alkies as we drive along. I'm taking caseloads of
B-complex and handcuffs to keep them in line, while Blue Moon talks them
down or throws them out, so you'd better be a famous movie star living
in a big man$ion if you want us to drive further to California. I was
planning on letting them loose in the Grand Canyon, give them a white
water rafting 'baptism' to demonstrate higher power, a shock and awe
approach!
The only deal I can make with you about California now, is that you'd
better be living near the Redwood Forest, own a giant swimming pool -
and a jucuzzi for Nigel. I'm not eating any Rice a Roni either!

The point of the story is that just "wishing" we could all meet,
"somewhere, somehow" isn't going to make it happen. Putting wishes and
dreams into concrete action is what makes change possible.
> I'd never get on a bus marked 'ARAA' though. As

...but getting on the bus is what it takes to experience new vistas.
Getting into a big purple 'hippy-freak' bus symbolizes people being
comfortable with using their creative, transformative, imaginations.
The healing imagination can help rewrite negative scripts in the
subconscious mind.

NE,
Your question's continued to play on my mind :^)
If I was planning a trip lasting more than a day, who, if anyone,
would I want to go with me ? To be honest with you, the thought of
having any person with me scares me. It's because I fear that it
would not take them long to find being with me not to their liking and
therefore, they'd leave and also because I fear that they'd get on my
nerves and that then I'd wish to be rid of them.
At this time, I think my perfect companions would be my cats but not
all of them (I'd leave behind my feral and also the one who dislikes
all the others) my computer (so that I could access my NG's and the
internet), my CD collection, a few books and my mobile phone (for
occasional calls).
I'd like any vehicle I was travelling in to have a
transporter -similar to the one in either Star Trek or Stargate SG1 -
so that I could beam in anyone I chose at any time I liked.
One of the changes I hope will come about in me as I continue my
journey to recovery is that I will lose the ability to let fears about
what people may think of me prevent me from doing things that I think
may cause no-one harm (myself included).

Hey! As long as I get the parking space closest to the door. I am pretty
sure that Rosie would make us all feel welcome. Maybe Robert could swing by
and get JB and sail on in. ;) I do like the bus idea as long as I don't have

I'll just pop over the Divide and float the Colorado down and meet you guys

highway's and by-ways?, reminds me of the Grey Rabbit, a bus that used to

If you and I were traveling, for instance, you wouldn't get on my nerves
because I understand what a hard struggle 'recovery' is. I wouldn't take
things personally. I also think that if I got on your nerves, we'd just
talk things out, and work out some kind of arrangement, so that we both
could enjoy the trip and reduce the stress, get to know one another
better.

Having self-esteem means treating oneself gently, lovingly,
respectfully, nurturing one's dreams. When a person has self-esteem,
she is not ruled by fears. She creates her life from a source of
strength within. Some people call that Spirit. It will get you through
the darkest times with a sense of peace.

If you're out there Rockhound, this is for you:
"To tie a rock to a cloud --
is this possible?
And if it is,
does the cloud descend to meet the rock
or does the rock rise to meet the cloud?"
"I have seen cosmic beings and other worlds yet without seeing a flower
it is nothing.
I have stopped my breath and been at one yet without the love of two it
is nothing.
I have felt pure joy and all that it brings yet the greatest is to feel
the pain of others.
I have predicted the future and the thoughts of others, yet my own
honesty eludes me.
I have been angelic, virtuous, and of pure heart, yet without being
human it is nothing.
Why do I crave other worlds
when the needy are here?
Why am I content with the joy of my world when others cry?
What does this mean?
After communing with God and defeating the devil, Jesus simply said, "I
am a man."
Though he had the power to see all and everything, the Buddha was
accidentally poisoned and died.
We live side by side with paradox and illusion. Of these things it is
hard to speak.
To tie a rock to a cloud--
is this possible?
And if it is,
does the cloud descend to meet the rock
or does the rock rise to meet the cloud?"
[see you at the Grand Canyon]
