Hi Deb/Bubba,
I remember you :^) If it's important to you to receive
congratulations for having acheived two years of sobriety, I'll
happily say well done. Well done.
I'm wondering whether you'd mind sharing your thoughts about how your
life has changed since you quit drinking and
what you think of it today.
All the best

Thanks, JB. When I first considered stopping drinking and came on here,
Shaw had just reached his nine month milestone. I remember thinking "Nine
months? I can't even manage nine days!" But everyone on here encouraged
me and here I am. That's why I posted really; partly to inspire others and
partly to say thank you.
How has my life changed? I think the most important thing is that I am now
happy and at peace with myself. I used to be very self centred and full of
my own importance. I also felt I had a lot of crosses to bear. I now try
to appreciate every day, much like not drinking - keep it in the day. I
make better use of my time and have managed to work on relationships with my
family and friends. I smile a lot. I have control over my life again and
life is good.
I haven't been on here very recently but I hope things are going well for
you, too.

Dear Deb/Bubba,
Thanks for coming back. I like your reasons for posting about your
birthday.
It makes me happy to think that you have a life today that is for you
so much better than the one you had while drinking.
Thank you for asking about me. My first birthday is within sight and
I continue to debate whether or not to publicise it here either on or
after the event. Like your life, mine has also changed in ways that I
think are for the better. However, I'm aware of the fact that unless
I continue to work my programme, I risk losing all the benefits that
I've gained from it and stand no chance of gaining further benefits
from it.
Dear Deb/Bubba,
I hope you will come back this time next year with news of your third
birthday.
Wishing you all the best.
JB

Oh yes, I remember those days! My life was worse than everyone else's,
no-one else had problems - I deserved a drink, or three, no, I needed a
drink. Just one, mind. <g>
