View Full Version : 4380
That's how many standard drinks I believe I have had in the past 12 months.
Perhaps I shouldn't be alive still.
Funny - I tried to calculate taking a guess at at least 12 drinks a day.
Exactly 4380 for me as well. Did that for about the last four / five years
(Can't really remember all that well) till I went to AA 15 years ago. I was
on the point of death when I stopped. Out of work and out of family and out
of luck. SHIT but it was really bad! About as bad as bad gets I suppose.
Good news is though - I had 15 extremely good happy joyous years without
drink afterwards. My depression and anxiety healed the longer I did not
drink.
It is glorious to be sober today!
Kind regards
Mias

But you are. What matters more is what you want to do.
Do you want to stop drinking?

That's about 18oz. of pure alcohol a day. Hell, you could easily increase
that amount gradually and substantially for a long time to come and yet
still be alive the next day to begin the nightmare all over again. This
reoccurring nightmare will continue until you reach the day you stop-by
either getting the help you need or by simply breathing your last.
Hope you decide to stick around.

Yep that was my calculation, the cost in money was $7800 in 12 months.
My car is worth half that!!. I spend my nights gettin trashed, then my days
trying to get my body back in order so I'd be ready to hammer it again. I
keep telling myself it cant last forever but just one more time should be
ok...and years later I'm still talking the same shit. This life isn't fun
at all, last night I didn't drink and I actually slept through the whole
night and felt much better today, tonight, even with enough booze in the
fridge to get hammered nicely, I havn't touched them. If I can keep this
way for even 1 week to see the improvements it might work out, might....

Got me to calculating too. I was sucking down 5 liters of wine a day. Comes
out to 4935 std 1 shot drinks a year. Naw you wouldn't die, my liver hadn't
shot down---yet--when I quit a year ago. I was a lot cheaper, the 5 liter
boxes cost me $7.99 each so $2916.35/yr (+tax)( course we don't want to
count 2 marriages, bankruptcy, jail time, a 36 year career, basically life
as I knew it)--a mere pittance.
Hope your getting your ass down to meetings and not trying solo white
knuckle sobriety.
