Rosie,

Given your track record, how can anyone be sure when it is that you're
telling the truth ?

I'm not that honest yet, but I am that stupid. ;-) I just noticed you do
your smileys like me. Are you left-handed?

I really don't know a lot about AA. Do you get chips at different
milestones in the program or something like that? I joined a bunch of
e-mail groups last night and received about a dozen responses. Sweet
responses, hugs and everything else. LOL. This may be a good thing for me
after all.

Anyway, congrats on the chip. You're doing better than me.

Debbie

I've gotten quite a few e-mails from women already. I am amazed, Rosie.
They are a lot like me and that's what I need to hear. I already want to go
visit them and be friends (and not get drunk). They are so open and honest
about themselves and helpful to me. I'm used to pissy people on computers,
not sweet ones. LOL. This may work for me after all.

Thanks,
Debbie

debbie,
you are entering "a world" of wonderful recovering
people.................there are none like them!

the warmth, love, and strength of the wonderful folks i have met in
AA is a great reason, why i kept coming back!
i hope you will continue to communicate with your newfound AA
friends and let them love you!
enjoy this part of your life, you deserve it, we all do!

Even stranger that you wouldn't understand the disgust is with your lying
about your qualifications and expertise, you dumb airheaded ho.

page 164 THE BIG BOOK OF AA

Our book is meant to be suggestive only. We realize we know only a
little. God will constantly disclose more to you and to us. Ask Him
in your morning meditation what you can do each day for the man who
is still sick. The answers will come, if your own house is in order.
But obviously you cannot transmit something you haven't got. See to
it that your relationship with Him is right, and great events will
come to pass for you and countless others. This is the Great Fact
for us.

Abandon yourself to God as you understand God. Admit your faults to
Him and to your fellows. Clear away the wreckage of your past. Give
freely of what you find and join us. We shall be with you in the
Fellowship of the Spirit, and you will surely meet some of us as you
trudge the Road of Happy Destiny.

May God bless you and keep you - until then.

Yeah, the first chip is the 24 hour chip, and when I went up to get mine at my
very first AA meeting back in October I was crying and confused and not really
sure what the hell it was all about, but people I had met had encouraged me to
get it, so I listened. It did make me feel a bit stronger afterward. A symbol
of admiting that I am an alcoholic who had accomplished 24 hours of sobriety.

Saturday night, however, I had more knowledge, but the feeling in my gut were
quite similar. I was shaking, on the verge of tears, however (and this is yet
another reason I love AA) one of the friends I have made through the program
took my hand and held it until it was time for me to get up and get the white
chip. Support. That's what it's all about.

Debbie, I would suggest you try some discussion meetings or beginner meetings
in your area - speak up, tell them you *don't* know but would like to know ...
you will find the guidance and support you seek and from that you will learn.
I have many many wonderful people through the program, and I see it so much
more clearly now after this week. (Of course, Debbie, there are dips but I"m
sre you'll spot 'em and avoid 'em).

>Anyway, congrats on the chip. You're doing better than me.

Try to stay positive Deb - how good are you doing? Good day today? sober
today? Take a nice shower today? Anything! Find it and hang on to it ...
it'll grow.

You're great! I'm glad you're here!!!

All the best,
Christine
