I'm sure glad I got sober...

....eighteen years ago. I see too many instances where a newcomer comes
into this group looking for help and most of the time the thread
degenerates into snide remarks, back-biting, fighting and bickering
like a bunch of fucking little kids with higher than average book
learnin'. It's a sad sight to see.

Even those of you who claim a lot of sobriety tend to look less than
attractive with your endless battles with those you have disdain for.
And, shit, here I am doin' the same thing.

Okay, talk amongst yourselves, because I won't be here to read it. I
bet I can find someplace else to reinforce my sobriety. It's
unfortunate that it can't be done here. Or maybe I just caught you at
a bad time -- like the last month or so?

Good luck,

Grump

LOL he's "signed up" next door at alt.recovery.aa, and already presenting
his "wreckage" there, if you really want to follow the saga;-)

Found it. Thanks Bob. Seeing that you and Rosie are also members, I reckon that that group must
be just as lively and entertaining as this one :^))

Hi Bob,

I didn't realise that such a difference existed. When I use the term "member" of an NG, it is
reference to someone who has "subscribed" to it. It just goes to show how easily simple words can
be misinterpreted.

JB

BTW, I'd say that today, you have a "mind of information" :^))

Oh, my mind may be too small, with all that information overflowing;-)
However it seems uncle Al Zeimers is catching most of the overflow!

My father used to say I was that sharp I kept cutting myself. Do you think
he was trying to tell me something?

Not funny Bob. I think that what you (and others) sometimes say is unnecessarily hurtful and
unhelpful.. If you (and others) feel at ease saying what you say, that's OK. I'm not here to try
to change anyone's behaviour except in response to a request for help to give up drinking. Some
things are impossible to achieve :^))
