Alcoholic Demands That I Buy Her Wine

On Thursday, I was keeping my co-worker's wife company when she started
demanding that I buy her wine! After I refused several times, she
dragged me to Safeway and bought a bottle of Cordeny in spite of my
efforts to dissuade her! What should I do the next time this happens?

Did you honestly imagine your co-worker's wife could endure another
moment of your manic meddling *without* the solace of alcohol?

This is starting to look like a hoax. Can anyone possibly be so dumb as
to have to ask what he should do the next time he is "dragged to
Safeway"? If someone dragged me anywhere, I'd call the cops.

Tim is a bit of a trickster, which is why I asked him if he was being
serious when he first posted here regarding his co-workers problems. His
original post was also cross posted to alt.humor and he's fairly well known
in some circles on Usenet, although not quite in the same league as the MI5
persecution dude. My best guess is he really does have a friend with a
problem. As you might suspect he also has a disability which I'll not go
into here which affects social skills and he is perhaps at a loss on how to
deal with his friends problem. Unlike alcoholism, most other disabilities
involving human interaction are usually solved or mitigated by throwing vast
varieties of pharmaceutical drugs or research at them. Tim probably just
needs to go to a few alanon meetings and learn how to let go and let god.

I'm not sure that I dare try that. She might comply!
