Day 4 of self detox

So I decided the drugs dont work and detoxed myself:
Day 1: I made a decision to have my last drink at 10pm Sunday Night so
at least I could get a bit of sleep in. Poured the last drink in me at
10 and went to bed and passed out straight away. I awoke at 4am as
usual screaming for a drink, but forced myself to lie in bed until
6am. By 6am my head was now screaming with anxiety so I got up and
paced the house for 3 hours. After that I dont remember much about the
first day except getting up, lying down shaking so badly sometimes
limbs flaying, getting up when the shakes had subsided, not being able
to even hold down a glass of water, so sipped half cups of warm water
sweetened with honey. by 6pm the really bad shakes had subsided and I
got it together to call someone from the fellowship, and get to a
meeting. Went to meeting and felt ok for a little bit so lay down on
the couch and tried to get some sleep.

Day 2: Woke up at 1am with a raging fever, drenched head to toe in
sweat and shaking violently, I remember having some pretty horrific
dreams but can't remember what about.Climbed into bed slept fitfully
an hour at a time until the anxiety got too much and I got out of bed
and started pacing. Then suddenlly I felt good, a ittle shaky and hot
and tired but OK.. I even got it together to shower and shave, and
attempted to eat a yoghurt, which stayed down...
By Midday though I had a raging fever and shakes again, so alternated
lying down getting up etc until they had subsided again at about 6 and
got to another meeting... Fell asleep on the couch and again woke up
at 1am with a raging fever soaked in sweat...

Day 3: the worst cant remember much of this day except it was like day
1 but worse, and a fever alternating between sweats and chills, vivid
visions if I shut my eyes... Slept fitfully until 6am

Day 4: Today.... Shakes have now calmed down and so has fever.....
Body now screaming for food. Get someone from AA to take me grocery
shopping And then to a lunchtime meeting, now eating like a beast I'm
still very sweaty and shakey, but can get it together enough to write
this... and can kind of see a way back out of this madness

Congrats Tomas!
We know its certainly not easy!! A hard detox but you've made it through!
Sounds familiar the sweats, shaking, can't sleep "have gone 3-4 days without
sleep".
And great your back into AA...best of luck
