I don't mean this newsgroup forces vodka down my throat, but I can see how my previous reply makes it seem that way. You'll have to blame that on the vodkas I had drunk previous to writing that reply. Or some other bullshit. I suppose the question is how do I not drink the first vodka.... Cos you'd think it would be easy, don't have a drink you fucking idiot, but I'm sure you people out there will know, how you don't want to drink and then you HAVE to drink.. and the rest is history. Well... Stella, thats the first hurdle we all faced ... avoiding the first one of the day. Stay tuned. The pissheads are lurking close by. How the Dts' this morning ? |

Cos you'd think it would be easy, > don't have a drink you fucking idiot, but I'm sure you people out there > will know, how you don't want to drink and then you HAVE to drink.. and > the rest is history. > Jeez, Stella, I can't let this opportunity slip by without pasting this testimony that sat forgotten in my computer during countless pro and con AA positions I've taken in smartarse arguments around these newsgroups. Here goes:- Early one New Years Eve, I drove to an AA meeting, drunk, to snip one of the slippers for my NYE drinks. While waiting for the babble to end, I saw the 12 steps on a wall banner and started taking them. Had taken step three by the time I could snip someone, but I no longer needed a drink, took all the steps sober and have never needed a drink since. And that's it! Of coarse, that seems far too simple to not have a catch lurking somewhere, and even after more than a decade later, as far as I can see, that's the catch. Despite my arranging multitudes of necessarily complicated and sometimes dramatic digressions seemingly essential for a man of my self important uniquity. Despite "humble" and "caring" AAers (wrongly) insisting their pet digressions were not diversions but essentials. My recovery from a once seemingly hopeless state of body and mind actually was as simple as taking the directions http://tinyurl.com/8py4u and giving them my best shot, regardless of whether I was having fun, or not.
