newbie

Hi there

I've been off teh booze since 2nd Feb 2005, which is this year. Lifes
looking up though of course feel the need to get well! Not been goign to as
many meetings as i was when I first gave up this time. Though this was the
first time I went to the meetings and accepted I am an alcoholic.
I done well making it to 11 months. But need to get to more meetings...

welcome and congrats on your sobriety!
i find that going to AA meetings really helps my spiritual program.
i have been sober for 23yrs, and i still go!
i truly enjoy them!

Congratulations dude! 11 months is awesome. Yes, go to more meetings. Try
to hook up with a sponsor, someone (or a group of someones) you can speak
with every day. All of life's little crap dealings, seem to be minimized so
much more when I can share them with someone else. And the more I call, the
more people call me and share their stuff. And giving them the ability to
get it off their chest, makes me feel better too.

Pretty nice cycle.

Thank you for your reply Rosie.

I have been planning on going to a meeting a day, whilst on this seasonal
break.
Not sure about the spiritual thing myself, but I do enjoy the meetings and
find they delkivery bearing on my life as a non drinker of alcoholic
beverages.
located in Bournemouth, UK, their are many meetings equating to around two
or three a day.
