Help with this group

"The alcoholic is like a tornado roaring his way through
the lives of others. Hearts are broken. Sweet Relation-
ships are dead. Affections have been uprooted. Selfish
and inconsiderate habits have kept the home in turmoil."

Was I the victim?

John,
Of whom? Of what? When? Here? Good lord, John, if you are talking
about postings in here, these are pixels placed on a screen by strangers.
Don't take any of it nearly that seriously or all that personally.
One of the flavors of alcoholic is the chronic victim. Well, maybe
phases rather then types. Maybe we all do it at some point. The Soggy
Bottom Boys have "A Man of Constant Sorrow" and the Coasters had "Charlie
Brown" ("Why's everybody always pickin' on me?") and, while they may not
have been alcoholics, they exemplify the type.
Everybody isn't always picking on you and you probably aren't entitled
to display constant sorrow.
The gay community thinks that they own the "drama queen" but I swear
that the alcoholic community has a pretty good claim, too.
Lighten up. If it's any comfort to you, none of us is all that damned
important and the weapon of choice against people who do attack with words
is still laughter. Make a joke. Have some fun. Don't revel in victimhood.
Dan

I don't know.
I do know victims don't get *well* they get sicker.
Stop dwelling on the past.
Don't fret on tomorrow.
Live for today.
