Poor Bastardos!

"Get those hammers out of this house this instant, I'll have no one
getting hammered in my home, thank you very much!"..... "And take
that glue out with them! I won't have you sniffing drugs in my home
either!"..... "Don't you realise A GLUE is A GLUE is A GLUE?"

Of course, all that went without repeating, "No, not over there, HP®
wants that built over HERE." ..... "NO, NOT YOUR WAY ..... this MUST
be built HP®'s WAY, dont you know that's what I'm *PAYING* you for!"

Sure, chances are they might end up in here, desperately seeking ...
........ Carpenters Anonymous!

I've been to several AA meetings all over the place, and what I really liked
about the meetings was the down-to-earthness of the people there. Most were
very friendly & welcoming, plus many knew what they were talking about, as
opposed to counsellors who've only ever studied it in books. (Not that
counsellors can't be friendly or welcoming, just that it's obvious when
you're talking to an alkie who's been through it, as opposed to someone
who's only ever studied it). (Although sometimes an academic viewpoint is
good too if you want a different perspective).

However, what I didn't like about AA was the fact that it was too watered
down God-wise in my opinion.

I know this might sound odd, since many people are put off AA by the
slightest mention of the word "God", but in my opinion if you're going to
use the word "God" (and the origins of AA are in a form of Christianity
after all), then you might as well use the word "God" in the Christian sense
of the word. In other words, a being who created the universe, and who knows
us all inside out. Otherwise, what's the point of using the word "God"? The
word "God" then becomes meaningless.

I've been in AA meetings and heard people say things like "The number 11 bus
is my God, because it gets me to the AA meetings".
OK fair enough, as a *figurative* use of the word "God", and if the number
11 bus keeps someone sober then great, but the number 11 bus didn't create
the universe. The number 11 bus isn't *literally* God -- anyone can agree
with that statement whether they believe in God or not (since even someone
who doesn't believe in God is aware of the Christian *concept* of God, even
if they don't agree with it).

But having said all that, if you're sober down to AA, then I'm glad.
I hope you continue to remain sober.

Love, light and all that bollocks
Keep it real
KJ
