So I started going to AA meetings...
Can't say I'm really embracing the spirit of things, but at least it's
keeping me focused, sober and keeping me out of the pub every evening, well the last 10 evenings anyway. Havn't been sober this long for about 3 years. Now just need to stop the Librium. Only took 2 yesterday, try with only 1 tommorow. |

Re: So I started going to AA meetings...

Find people to be with who aren't drinking. It's that damned idle time when you aren't with someone that let's you start thinking too much. Meetings can be oversold, but they have tremendous value when you are just starting out and you haven't yet found your own version of worthwhile things to do and don't know a lot of nondrinking people with whom to hang out. Trust me on this, although this can be a source of some advice (or at least insights), it isn't a substitute for actually doing things with people. All my best to you and if there is anything I can do, please contact me. I'm in Akron, Ohio, by the way. Dan |

Re: So I started going to AA meetings...
He just prescribed me a jar of 50 10mg, and told me to take them as
required, but no more than 4 a day. Also prescribed me Prozac as he thinks I'm 'clinically fed up', which I beleive takes about a month to kick in. Went to another AA meeting tonight, and saw someone from the first meeting I attended. It was nice to hear the words 'your looking a lot more healthy today'. |

Maybe the reason I took so long to discover that unqualified promises are a forte of the unqualified was due to a proficiency in making unqualified promises. Bob |

We share our experience, strength and hope with each other, Bob. That's what I was doing with Tomas. But I know you figured that out. No, an unqualified cannot make someone's actual alcoholic condition worse by demonstrating proficiency at making unqualified promises. .. Sorry you took so long, but so long as you have it today, that's good. Drive safe Bob. Wilson demonstrated adequate qualification by prefixing those BB promises with a qualifier, before "it" got better for him every day too, to the point he advanced into long term suicidal depression. >We share our experience, > strength and hope with each other, Bob. I heard that myth regularly at AA meetings, where bullshit like yours was nurtured with applause. Bob |

I'll be really careful not to rear-end anybody. Don't want to make any lawyers rich. But, in any event a WAD 1 or WAD 2 has a litigation cap in AB. A lawyer can make your condition actually worse by going for the WAD 3. Sorry about the depression Bob....I have nothing to share with you about that worth your applause... You take care. |
