hahahaha, I can't do your getting real for you, Ken.

You cannot document your claim, because you made it up.

Good grief Bob. I thought it ought that you cut my entire response
except for my rejoinder, "Get real" on alt.recovery.from-12-steps. Now
I find it really odd that you post the almost the entire exchange
leaving out all of my response except the rejoinder. What is wrong with
you? What are you trying to do? Are you taking lessons from Virt or what?

Below is what you excerpted from my suggestion that you "Get real."
______________________________________________

Get real. AA members all speak for AA. The "no one speaks for AA" is
merely to sidestep when someone says something that puts outsiders off.
Also organizations like NCADD and Join Together not only speak for AA,
they lobby for AA too.

Of course, with my experience, even an official AA spokesman on the
radio who was speaking _for_ AA lied through his teeth and said "No one
in AA takes the Big Book seriously" when confronted in front of the
audience with some of the crap in it.
At least those who promote AA "unofficially" generally really believe
the nonsense they are saying. This official AA representative on the
radio in San Francisco knew he was lying through his teeth. But if it
helps to "carry the message" . . .

Moonies call it "Divine Deception."

I didn't know there was such a thing as an "official" AA spokesman.
Maybe I've misunderstood the traditions for the last 25 years.

Hey, it's Rrrrrick ?

Jeez, and folks have been thinking these last 25 years that it's
Rrrrrip Van Winkle!

While you were snoozing, one official AA spokesperson even claimed
http://tinyurl.com/9rvyw he wrote the book, and another official AA
spokesperson http://tinyurl.com/bzrna wants the books burned!

There's at least one more official AA spokesperson, but that one's a
shemale, and gone into hiding now while purportedly perfecting that
humility caper.

Rick,

I never new such a creature existed myself until I met him on a radio
show in San Francisco. I think the local Intergroup sent him out.

If I can find the tape, I'd like to put it on line.

Of course AA may have duly elected spokespeople, when required. That's why
there are group and district service reps.
"Our leaders are but trusted servants, they do not govern". That about
explains their role when "speaking on behalf of AA"

When we send speakers out into the community, they are speaking on behalf of
AA. They attend a speaker workshop first to obatin guidlines.
But then again Ken you are so far out of touch with AA, you probably
wouldn't know that.

Stuart,

Either I am so far out of touch with AA that I was totally aware of AA
sending out a speaker when they know there is controversy which is a
_far_ different matter from sending out speakers where they know they
won't face controversy. Of course, I've not seen it since, either.

You certainly must know as well as I do that sending out an official
representative for a radio show where two authors of AA were is so far
removed from the norm that it may never have happened before or again.

Either that or you are so far out of touch with what AA does and doesn't
do that you just didn't know and confused sending out speakers to
promote AA where they won't face controversy is the same thing.

Sorry Ken, you lost me with the run-on sentences and the confusing
grammatical stricture...
In any event, since you don't attend AA meetings, or participate at any
leadership level, it really matters very little.
Not much action in arf? I unsubscribed awhile back. Same old same old....:-)

PS Ever hear from Dave at the Llama ranchl? He had a pretty nice race car at
one point. I wonder if he still tears around the track at all?
