terminally unique

If you had someone newly into recovery, how would you explain the concept of
"terminally unique"?

I explain "terminally unique" as being a contemptuous expression from
AA clones aimed at any newcomer not identifying with their mindless
bullshit.

You got it, "Thank you for sharing" like top posting, is another
expression of contempt from AA's clones.

Not to worry, Freddy,
"KEEP COMING BACK!"

Re: terminally unique

Yanno, if a newcomer finally gets up the courage to come here and ask a
question, that kind of answer could put them off forever. It's like when
they finally manage to crawl into their first AA meeting and there's an
argument about whether a certain group of people should be allowed to come
to a meeting because they use another substance besides alcohol, they'll
never go back again, and assholes like you will have pushed them out.
Perhaps, you should re-think your caustic comments. I'm truly sorry I ever
asked a question in a recovery forum like this, because no one cared enough
to give an honest answer. I'll know better next time.

Re: terminally unique

Yanno, you got a straight and honest answer, but if you want your
arse licked, drag it to an AA meeting.

There ya go, fuckwit, that should get your type to AA meetings, in
droves! You need never feel unique, again

Bob

Re: terminally unique

Hi Fred. For me, being terminally unique was thinking that no one else
had been through the things I had been through. No one else had done
the things I had done. No one else could possibly know how I was
feeling. No one else drank as much as I did and couldn't possibly know
how I felt afterwards. Being terminally unique, I thought I could
control everyone else and if only they would just listen to me. Being
terminally unique, I thought I had all power. Being terminally unique,
after hearing that term in AA, I used the term to make people believe
they were being self-centered, when in reality, I was again putting
myself on a pedastal.
Robert isn't so wrong in what he said. I can now thank God for Robert
and all those *virtual* slaps in the face he has given me to bring me
back into reality.
This morning I was ready some of my past post again. In one of them I
thought I was the only person working a program...LOL! Virtualosa asked
me to give him the pamphet on how to. I am sitting here laughing as I
write that. Hope you all get a chuckle this morning, too.
Take care,
Gail
