Help?

Hi folks, About 2 years ago while looking for some info about online
meetings in chat rooms I ran across a discussion group in MSN. I can't
remember what name they went by but It was similar to all the others.
This group of people discussed alternative ways of recovery without the
12 steps. I don't know why but hell, to each his own I guess. I know
that probably goes against everything most of you believe in [ sorry ]
but I was hoping to find it again. Maybe it folded LOL! There was a
12 step group in my town for agnostics & atheists. I don't know exactly
how it worked. Maybe they replaced the word God with self or.... ah hell
who knows? Anyway they didn't last long either. OK, I'm rambling...then
again if you ever been to a meeting... you're used to that. I really
need to find this group. If anyone remembers it or has any info at all
or even if you know of another group that's similar....I'm trying to
track down a few people that used to post there. I would greatly
appreciate anything at all that might lead me to someplace like this [
discussion or chat ] I'll check back again. Good luck to you all &
thanks very much for your time. Sincerely, K9 ps. O.D.A.T

I'm not sure the program works at all if you replace "god" with "self"....
It seems to me that is perhaps most of the problem already. Just my take.

Anyway, I recommend you search for either Moderation Management groups or
Rational Recovery groups. Sounds like your looking for Rational Recovery
groups. Now generally these programs have a price involved, but knowing
alcoholics like I do, I cannot imagine it would take too long to find way us
to do most anything without paying for it.

Oh Yeah, There is a twelve step group in my town for agnostics and atheists,
too -- it's called Alcoholics Anonymous.
