Really ? Rosie, I know you too well to expect that you are at this time willing to be honest in public about how my post has made you feel. You will not do so because it would not fit the image of yourself that here you choose to present. However, some of us "old-timers" see behind the mask you wear. I am certain that you have many fears (including fear of change); that you often feel insecure; that your self-worth depends on others making you feel good and that you need pills and killfiles to help you cope with life because despite your best efforts to control it, it persistently refuses to behave in ways which would make it always perfect for you. Now, you may think me beastly for saying these things and perhaps, what I've said, will result in you again putting me in your killfile.. But if you do, also consider the possibility that some good for you might come out of you making me the subject of a mini Step 4 inventory for the purpose of discovering which part of yourself I have, on this occasion, caused to be hurt and discussing it with your Sponsor. My ref to "old-timers" had nothing to do with sobriety time but rather it was reference to length of time reading an posting to this NG. For me, in the context in which I've used the term, and in my eyes only (perhaps), 18 months of posting on this NG qualifies me as an ARAA "old timer". JB |
