Question for the AA Experts

Is there anyway to go thru the AA program
and work the steps without having to attend
FTF meetings? I suffer from agoraphobia and
that makes it very difficult to get anything
out of the group meetings. In fact, probably
the only way I could get thru an AA meeting
would be if I was intoxicated or sedated on
benzos. Any ideas?

Which of the 12 steps even mentions AA meetings?

Re: Question for the AA Experts

Scott, same problem here. It's been five months. Going to meetings
literally hurt. I am so anxiety ridden and freaked out that i don't
focus or can't focus.

I know they have online AAS meetings but I haven't searched them out.

As big as the agoraphobie problem is, the God problem is bigger.

you can email me if you want, I am sober.

The experts are con artists.

Main Entry: ag·o·ra·pho·bia
Pronunciation: "ag(-&)-r&-'fO-bE-&
Function: noun
: abnormal fear of being helpless in a situation from which escape may
be difficult or embarrassing that is characterized initially often by
panic or anticipatory anxiety and finally by avoidance of open or public
places

No matter how much of an asshole I may think you are. It is my belief
that anyone can change if they want to. The asshole that 12 stepped me
said he loved me but didn't like me.
I do not worry about what he said now because he was a deluded
psychopath that was a baptist preacher that liked to get falling down
drunk before his sermons and when he got sober he would hang around
newly sober ladies to eat them out.

I disagree with the death penalty except for those that want to take my
freedom away.
Alcoholism is a social disease and in the US being in public is deadly.
I have had hundreds of assaults directed at me. Some of these assaults
have resulted in injury to my body yet I cannot defend myself until we
have a civil war.

AA is propably the worst place to get sober for those who are not good
ole boys.

I am not sure you are abnormally afraid. You have every right to be
afraid and that is reality.
When you become honest with your self and see that you will know why the
word anomynous is used.
Alcoholism will kill you slowly and it is much more difficult to
continue drinking than to quit.
In the beginning you will suffer waves of self pity and resentments
which will pass with deep meditations to your own survival.
The ego must be smashed.
And like the doormouse said in Alice and Wonderland, "feed your head".

Rosie has directed you to one type of on-line meeting which can be
accessed through AA Intergroup. At Intergroup's Home page you'll
discover links to AA groups which run e-mail meetings only: others
which run e-mail meetings plus chat rooms and discussion forums and
yet others which run discussion forums only. AA Intergroup's Home
page is:

After I was poisoned with experimental doses of LSD and other
unknown drugs by the US Army, my ego became fractured and
destroyed anyway. And I think that many of us who've gone
thru that type of brainwashing have also developed these
abnormal panic disorders. I feel no self-pity or resentments.
