Irritate? Nothing could be further from the truth JB. Myself, I could go
without booze for periods of time, and if I were a better person, maybe I
might have quit forever, without the AA program. What AA is for me is not
about quitting drinking, it's about staying stopped, for several thousand 24
hour periods in a row, now.
I use the steps to give my thinking apparatus the best possible shot at
harmony in sobriety that I can possibly give it. The steps are tools only,
the fellowship is a group of people trying to use those tools, and they
share their experiences with each other.
Never once felt that AA had the last word on this deal, or will. It's the
best I can find for me at the present time.

Keep on keeping on, you are doing suberbly, and don't talk yourself out of
that fact.
