First Timer
Hello,
I started heavey drinking about 10 yrs ago. Went from weekends, to beers during the week, to a fifth of rum or vodka in a day or two in about 5 years. I slowed when I got married and had kids but never went away. Lies to my wife and friends just kept getting more and more frequent every month. I went from finding the half full bottle under my seat on the way to work and throwing it out the window, to getting the biggest bottle and letting it last a few days, to knowing that if what ever size I got I would hit it until it was gone or I was gone. I didn't start till I was about 23, because my mother complained about my dad who I saw make a drink before he went to work when I was 13. I knew it could be a problem and now I know it is. In the last few weeks I've gone a couple days without sleeping at all. That was after not drinking for two days. My wife is done with me until I get back to who I was when I met her. Over the last 3 years I've heard loose comments from friends about me needing that next drink Today I have 2 beers left in the fridge. Tomorrow I will have none. I know tomorrow never comes, I've been through that. But that is when I will try to hold on and try to be pushed in the right direction by the only higher power that exists for me and hope that the exact opposite power will not have enough strength to overcome it. best wishes to you all, I'll check back jes |
