Hello again, SB. I'm glad you came back. So you posted yesterday and
you didn't manage to follow through *this* time but you still posted
again today. And, not only that, you sound like you've got a pretty
good handle on what's going on.

You reminded me a lot of ME when you mentioned the look you sometimes
get when you buy your cans. I remember that well.

I used to shop around a few stores to try and avoid any one shopkeeper
measuring up my habit but I guess they all knew the score. You said it
yourself (in as many words, anyway...): that stuff ain't brewed for
anyone but alkies, everyone knows it, and no-one else but alkies
drinks it!

Here's something else that rang a bell. Three days off the sauce,
feeling a bit better, then off to the races again. With me (not
speaking for you, here) I'd be back on full-time, retching my guts up
every morning, not being able to eat, anxiety ripping outa me,
gastritis, shakes, and all the rest. Brutal.

I don't much about acamprosate (sp?) but I *am* a big supporter of
anyone who takes a drinking problem to a doctor. I respect that a lot,
in fact.

Check in again, SB, good luck tomorrow and follow the good doctor's
orders! ;-)

Phoned in sick at work & spent the day in bed. Will check in again when I
feel more human. It's bloody awful atm, throwing up one end, shits the
other.

Yep, remember it well, and it doesn't get much worse than that. Well,
for some people, it actually gets a *lot* worse than that, but what
I'm saying is, I empathize. Based on my own experience I wouldn't be
at all surprised if you were wedging in cans here and there between
bathroom visits. My bathroom trash can was often full of bottles and
cans.

Look back in again soon, SB, always room for another alkie around
here.

We do have a product with the same name here, but it's a weak
fruit-flavored malt beverage with only 6% ABV.

But to appease the true alkie, we still have MD 20/20, a ghetto wine
cooler with 13% ABV that comes in a quart bottle.

Ah, MegaDeath 20/20, the global ghetto lubricant. OR is that WD-40?
They both do the job in a pinch, I'm sure.

Thanks anon. Working up a thirst here...

Re: First day

Hi all, just to let you know I'm still alive. I have been sober for six days
so far, the first three were awful but I'm feeling better as each day goes
on.

Dude! Welcome aboard. I'm not pushing this, just suggesting it, but
meetings really help and especially at the beginning.
Stay with it.
Dan
