job interview
HI everyone. i finally got to a meeting today and lo and behold when i
got home there was a message on the machine to call a company i just applied to with my resume and ive got an interview at 10 am tomorrow. I just hope im not too shaky and give a good impression. Now if i get this job i will have some added incentive to stay sober. I havent worked in 3 months so just getting up in the morning is going to be hard.I will probably have the sweats tonight and have to go through the detox thing for a week or so.I'm hoping that if i do get this job that they won't need me to start right away so i can have a few days to get my mind clear and start feeling and looking a little better before i have to start.I wish everyone another great 24 hrs...jim |

Drink plenty of fluids today, and get Vit B down you - preferably thiamine. Honey too to get sugar back in your system. Try getting up several hours before hand and get ready - and get there well b4 the interview to give any day sweats time to work out. Maybe tell them you have a cold too! Sure they would give you a few days b4 starting - maybe tell you have family commitments. I'm not suggesting you build a career on lying please note, but I'm sure that getting the job will be a big help on your road to recovery. -- Jonathan Bratt |

I used to work with two people who were TT - and I thought they were the pits. No fun, Goody Two Shoes. Now the tables are turned and it's not very nice. "You're no fun any more, Deb" Yeah, right, I'll go and get drunk to amuse you all and wreck my life in the process. My previous prejudgement wasn't very nice either. Friendship takes a while to develop - you can't just go out and buy some new friends. "Real" friends will stand by you. I've spent some time on my own, which I used to hate because I despised myself, but have just started to mix a bit with people whose life does not revolve around the bottle. Not "friends" as such, but I'm getting there. One day at a time! Deb |
