If you can't stop drinking

People here can't help you. If you really can't stop drinking, only
God can help you, and only if you want him to. He doesn't seem to
mind if you're a jerk - he's not that picky, and, we all gotta start
somewhere. He will exact a price though. But try not to confuse
those of them who think they've found god with those of us who
actually have.

To those of you who have somehow once upon a time hurt bad enough to
have found some spirit (ie. Bobbly L. et al), there is more where it
came from. The same thing that got you down won't get you back up
again, though. http://tinyurl.com/yv67q Learning to put our own
desires below others' needs requires willing effort and practice, but
it's a habit that promises to enrich our lives beyond anything that
pursuits fueled by self-centered fear could possibly offer. Beyond
being emotionally satisfying, it's one of the most important steps in
becoming a mature person. Unfortunately it doesn't come naturally to
alcoholics, which is why we have to have God's help, relying on faith.

If you don't try with a will, you will drink yourself to oblivion,
madness, and death, though. Put down the wrongdoings of others,
whether imagined or real, in black and white, resolutely look for your
part in things. The inventory is ours, not the other guy's. Relief
will not come from proving them wrong, but admitting that we are.

Good luck, all.

Thanks for tolerating me while i undressed myself before the mirror
that was you; i will go redress elsewhere, ever seeking the real
fairest in the land, pay my respects.

Why don't you take a good look at yourself and describe what you see,
and baby, do you like it?

Yeah - i'm gone. Nothing personal, no offense, really, but you guys
are really boring. Maybe that Haitian farmer Levi Strauss & Co kicked
the shit out of might have some ideas about what to do with truth,
justice and love, since the alcoholics obviously had no use for it.

Re: If you can't stop drinking

Rocky IV - You are either brilliantly intellectual or intellectually
brilliant! One of the two. Why do you not invest in an audio tape of M Scott
Peck called "Alcoholism the sacred disease". It is equally up your street as
down your street can get. The Scott Pecked guy is a smoker with a
psychiatric doctorate, very humble and all the right universities as well I
say old chap. I think - Therefore I am...
Kind regards

The tapes on the sacredness of piles and kidney stones were good too -
hear everyone screaming, "Oh God, Oooh God, help me pleeeeease! Help
me, help me, sweet Jeeeesus!"
