Need Advice

My Neighbor is an alcoholic and is taking antidepresents. A few weeks
ago my neighbor was hospitalized after binging for a week and nearly
died from lots of alcohol and antidepressants. This person has
already smashed 2 cars and is currently driving even though the
driver's license has been revoked. I learned of this today when other
concerned neighbors brought it to my attention after seeing me assist
this person. We have children in the neighborhood and this person
barrels through. I really feel sad for this person. My fear is this
person is going to kill themself and/or someone else. I am not close
to this person at all. Is there anything I can do. Help!

Report the situation to the police? Much easier if the person has
any type of rutine so you can tell the police when to be on the lookout.

Yep, hate to be a tattle tale- but better for him to get busted for no
drivers liscense or drunk driving than mowing over some kid. I think if
you were to talk to him directly it would make matters worse.
Let the air out of one of his tires & wipe some dog doo on the inside
of his door handle, then get out the lawn chairs, lemonade and let the
show begin. Don't feel guilty for this, you're helping him get to that
bottom we all have to reach before we trudge that road to happy
destiny.

PS: some super glue in the trunk lock might also be a nice touch.

get any worse?

And then he speeds off to the liquour store. Which is just what the
cops round the corner were waiting for.

Call the cops and insist they post someone regularly to nail this
asshole in your neighborhood. Put them on notice. Be sure your
report is papered and witnessed. Follow up daily. Copy your local
mayor or whatever, and let the boys in blue know that you are doing
so.

If they fail to act in removing this lunatic from the streets they may
wind up under investigation themselves should a death to a child
occur. Anything less would be criminally negligent on your part and
*you* could become an accessory to murder.

If our boys in blue still fail to act, well, in the old days the
neighbors would get together and take a baseball bat to the guys legs.

Maybe the police could inform which is the lesser charge - aggravated
assault causing bodily injury or willful negligence leading to the
death of a child?

I'm partial to the bust his legs out from under him idea.
