Ping Gail
Dear Gail,
A few days ago, you suggested that I was obsessing about a certain person on this NG: From: Gail (gailathome@charter.net) 5th May 2004 " How is obsessing about Rosie going to benefit you?" In that post you also suggested that I read page 449 of the BB and stated: "I, like you, wasted a lot of time obsessing on people, places and things. I lost my serenity when doing that" Maybe if you think about what you've been saying to me recently, you'll conclude that page 449 contains info which could help/benefit you as much as it could help/benefit me. "And acceptance is the answer to all my problems today. When I am disturbed, it is because I find some person, place, thing or situation - some fact of my life - unacceptable to me, and I can find no serenity until I accept that person, place, thing or situation as being exactly the way it is supposed to be at this moment. Nothing, absolutely nothing happens in God's world by mistake" I wish you well. JB .. |

I don't need to know to what you refer in order to answer your question. Often when I am able to accept that people, places and things are as they're supposed to be, I have a quieter mind than when I can't accept them being as they're supposed to be and this mind enables me to deal with situations in ways which leave me with no regrets about what I've done. It also enables me at times to not become argumentative when people behave towards me in ways which I consider unreasonable; get worried over things which I have no control and to not have expectations that my actions will always result in me achieving what I set out to achieve for example. When I adopt this attitude I believe that is when I am accepting the fact that I am not God merely a human being with very limited powers and influence; I'm practising the programme in the BB and my conscience (God) tells me that I am not acting on self-will. Bob, When you ask me questions that enable me to think about the reasons why I've posted a certain message, you are being helpful to me. Thank you. JB |

Re: Ping Gail
again, i ask you JB, how much of your recovery is actually coming
from ONE ALCOHOLIC TALKING TO ANOTHER? if you are running your own show,(and it really does seem that you are) you are missing out on one of the biggest gifts that AA has to offer. (joe and charlie talk about it all the time..................................i thought you liked their approach? or are you skipping those things you don't want to hear, in order to continue with your negativity?) rosie p.s. feeling a need to name call again? why not call your sponsor first?
