I was just noticing the time of day that you post on each of your post. Good God, do you do anything else during the day besides post in this newsgroup? I gotta wonder and all the damn questions! I suggest you ask yourself a few and move on girl. I shall not answer you if you ask me why I post this question to you. I shall just ask you the same question over and over again dear. That is what you appear to be doing now for about 8 or so months isn't it? Why do you care so much about everyone else's recovery and how we comprehend the program of AA and less and less about your own? Just my opinion. For me, you are getting so predictable that it isn't funny any more. Your post are old news now. I will ask you, "Where are you on your steps". I am sure you would be the first to throw that question to me or someone else. All the best, Gail |

Have you considered the possibility that when I ask questions sometimes it's in order to further my understanding of AA's 12 Step programme ?. Such questions are for my benefit. > For me, you > are getting so predictable that it isn't funny any more. Rarely do I treat as humorous issues either AA's 12 Step programme or my own recovery from alcoholism. Tonight, at an AA meeting, I heard stories about several AA folk who relapsed after being sober for several years. A couple of them died soon after picking up again. I have not yet achieved one year of sobriety this time round. For as long as I think my recovery benefits from what I do here and elsewhere, I shall keep on doing it. If you have a problem with what I do you have to find a way to deal with it. > I will ask you, "Where are you on your steps". I was thinking about this recently because someone at an AA meeting I regularly attend asked me if I wanted to become a 'member' of the group. I asked what that meant. They facetiously said I would get cake after a year. Of course I joined. Anyway, I'm thinking I really don't care about being sober for one year any more than I care about being sober for one more day. (Interesting thing about that 'one day at a time' expression: it has multiple useful meanings.) One year isn't like reaching the top of a mountain; it just means you've climbed a little further up the side of it. I'm being a sap, and that's my pithy aphorism for the day. -- AB5DB9CC |

Tao Of Relativity To know that the universe is but as a tare-seed, and the tip of a hair is as big as a mountain, -- this is the expression of relativity - Chuang Tzu. Autumn Floods "Dimensions are limitless; time is endless. Conditions are not constant; terms are not final. Thus, the wise man looks into space, and does not regard the small as too little, nor the great as too much; for he knows that there is no limit to dimensions. He looks back into the past, and does not grieve over what is far off, nor rejoice over what is near; for he knows that time is without end. He investigates fullness and decay, and therefore does not rejoice if he succeeds, nor lament if he fails; for he knows that conditions are not constant. He who clearly apprehends the scheme of existence does not rejoice over life, nor repine at death; for he knows that terms are not final."* "Relativity teaches us the connection between the different descriptions of one and the same reality. A human being is a part of a whole, called by us _universe_, *** a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his* thoughts and feelings as something separated from the rest... a kind of optical delusion of his* consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us.* Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty." - Albert Einstein http://www.mindgazer.org/tao/ |

I, like you, wasted a lot of time obsessing on people, places and things. I lost my serenity when doing that. Do you? > > > I will ask you, "Where are you on your steps". > > Step 8 Oh, ok. > > I am sure you would > > be the first to throw that question to me or someone else. > > >Gail > > How can I be the first to throw such a question at you, when you've > already asked it of me ? :^) But JB, I don't usually ask that question to anyone. Really isn't any of my business. You are so good at manipulating the questions and/or answers.. When I read what you post, I can't see or feel the serenity in your post like I can from others who post here. You do more nit picking and analying than sharing your ESP. I am sorry but, that is how *I* feel and what I get from your post now days. To be honest, all these months. I feel like you have portrayed to me a better than thou attitude. You know, I have lots more respect for Rosie for putting up with your harrassment. She is evidently stronger than you think. I have never heard Rosie say she had wanted a drink since she has been posting in here. I can't say the same about you. It really isn't any of my business how Rosie, you or anyone else is keeping from taking that drink. Also, I appreciate Rosie posting the readings in this group. Shit, I don't even take the time to do that and I don't see anyone else doing it either. Thanks Rosie! Also, I don't see Rosie spending all her spare time trying to get back at you. Evidently, Rosie's resentment, if she has one against you, is lots smaller than the one I notice in your posts. Sorry, I just felt like I needed to say this. Maybe because I see me and how I used to act, in you. Page 449. And before you or anyone else ask, no, I am not in anyone's fan club. I will give credit where credit is due, though. All the best, Gail |

I don't know. If I did, it is because I can relate to not having people act the way I would like them to act. Just seems like you have wasted a whole lot of time trying to discredit Rosie and for me, that is time I am wasting on not working on myself. You and I both know someone who use to post in here and left because that person had no tolerance or patience for Rosie and some others in here. That person proclaims to have worked the steps and been sober for some time. I don't want that kind of recovery for myself. I am not patient or tolerant all the time. Just ask the cashier that checked me out at the grocery store the other day. I am doing the best I can today to be patient and tolerant of others. It is hard at times. But really, is Rosie, myself or anyone else in here worth the loss of serenity, patience or tolerance today? I expect that you would and have pointed out to me what you might see me doing that isn't good for my recovery and I thank you. To be honest here, I don't feel good after I read your posts to Rosie and some others in here. In fact, it is the same for me in an AA meeting when I hear someone putting down the members. A real turn off for me. Anyway, take care and I hope I haven't made an enemy of you. All the best, Gail |
