You can guarantee these truths with absolute certainty if you adopt a
conforming definition of alcoholism.

Thats right Robert, that is the requirement to BECOME a member. No one said
you LOST your membership after you managed to stop. I didnt expect you to
responed to my post I just wanted you to think about what you could offer
others at AA.
Much love,

The tremendous fact for every one of us is that we have discovered a common
solution. We have a way out on which we can absolutely agree, and upon which
we can join in brotherly and harmonious action. This is the great news this
book carries to those who suffer from alcoholism.

But we can't agree on the theistic demagoguery behind Bill W. either. I
think the BB is mostly insane ranting for example.

i have always believed that NO ONE can complicate the shit out of
nothing, like an alcoholic can, and this causes some to do nothing
but argue........................
this newsgroup can at times be a perfect example of that.
KEEPING IT SIMPLE and TAKING WHAT YOU NEED was some very helpful
direction for me.

Rosie, when the going gets tough, exemplifies confusion about what is
actually needed, while she is whacked into emotional anaesthesia by
her treasured drugs. Rosie will probably never learn the difference
between simplicity, and absurdity.

He blew his own sobriety, if there was any to start with. It's clear
that neither of you is particularly serious about the process.

The "fellowship" the book refers to is the fellowship of having done
the work involved in the Steps. I have experienced this type of
fellowship, and it can create some useful conversations. Rather
different is the "fellowship" that may be found in the typical AA
group where a proportion seem to equate "fellowship" with "safety in
numbers".
