Slogans For Alcoholics
One of my co-workers has a severally alcoholic wife. In counseling him,
I have come up with a number of "stop drinking" slogans: Break free of
the bottle that is holding you prisoner/captive/is ruining your life!
I will not drink TODAY! (repeat every day).
Rebel against the bottle!
Dear God, please give me the strength every day to not drink alcohol.
God indeed is my savior; I am confident and unafraid. My strength and
courage is the LORD, and he has been my savior. (Isaiah 12:2 in the New
American Bible (Catholic).
I can do all things in Christ which stengtheneth me (Phillipians 4:13).
If ye have faith...nothing shall be impossible unto you (Matthew 17:20).
If God be for us, who can be against us? (Romans 8:31).
Throw your heart over the bar, and your body will follow.
A bottle cannot make love to you.
Other ideas: Keep pictures of loved ones in you wallet and look at them
whenever you feel an urge to drink.
Wear a cross (or Crescent or Star of David) and grasp it whenever you
feel an alcohol craving.
Put up bulletin boards saying "Don't Drink!"
