Night Train is the worst I ever had, and I had it more than
once. All those fortified wines have about the same
alcohol content, I think 18% usually. I always got the worst hangover
from Night Train.
But I always got a hangover, from anything, if I drank to the point of
passing out, which was
nearly every night for 10 years. But beer was my main drink for two
reasons: I wanted to
last all night and drink fast at the same time, because I'm a
gluttonous person.
I still drink, but not in loud public places. In this way I'm
able to control
my intake, managing twice a week to drink 12 beers over a 10 to 12
hour period, which
is very slow drinking, as I'm sure you know. I don't get drunk, just
buzzed, which is good
enough for me. But no way am I bragging about having things under
control, because
I know I could probably not manage such a slow pace in a public place
with a bunch of
loud people hanging around.
Anyway, something about the Night Train stuff really dried me out
way worse than any
of the others. I'm picturing a headline in the paper about someone
being killed in a dispute
between two drunks over which wine is worse, Night Train or MadDog
20/20. Each wino
each drinking the wine over which he is fighting. The Night Train guy
wins the fight and winds
up in jail for life. The reason he wins the fight is because the
Night Train bottle makes a better
weapon than the MadDog bottle when broken against the pavement and
used as a knife.
