Your opinion is intelligent, compassionate, logical, and understanding
and I agree totally in what you say.

We never hear from the overwhelming silent majority that abstain or
moderate their drug/alcohol use. They have no reason to "tell the world
about it". The 12-step program is based on one concept, and that is
FEAR. Members continue to attend the meetings like cattle not because
they're having a good time or making relationships. They continue, and
some for over 20-30-40 years, because they are programmed to believe
that if they DON'T GO, they will find themselves in back in the gutter,
drinking and drugging.

I have a problem with this topic and I could spend all night writing
about it. But I won't and the anger it causes isn't worth it.
